Archbishop Mitty Visual Arts Gallery

Fall Semester 2019, the art room was pranked by two freshman students who thought it would be funny to hide tiny pictures of Danny DeVito everywhere.  Teachers were surprised to find him in unusual locations, and are still finding some here and there.  A senior in the Painting class decided to take action, and she started to collect the DeVitos and doodle on them, transforming him into other characters.  She began to post them on the whiteboard in a row. The art teachers noticed the drawings and realized the resemblance to Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe series.  Right away they knew what had to be done—a Spring Semester 2020 project, with every student transforming a “DeVito” in some way, and assembling them into a grid of over 200 images.
